i was a binge eater.

I grew up in an upper middle class household where food was not scarce and I could have made healthy choices and I chose not to make healthy choices. I used to come from home and binge any carb anything that I get my hands on I eat to the point where my parents couldn’t keep the kind of food in the house.

And I was not an athlete. I didn’t have a ton of friends. I am 5’4 and when I graduated high school at 17 years old I weigh 200 pounds which is really heavy for 17 years old.

I made the decision that I was going to change and I started going to the gym and I changed all my eating habits and I started coming back on portions and I lost a good amount of weight. I realized that I had to trigger foods that I couldn’t have in normal portion size. And they were French fries and pizza. It couldn’t just have a like a portion of French fries and I couldn’t just have a slice or two piece, I couldn’t control myself. So with those trigger foods I had to cut them out completely which was really hard but it was the only way I could stop binging.

I was determined to keep off the weight. I  would take diet pills and then I yo-yo dieted for 15 years from like 17 to 31. I never got back up to 200 pounds but I was up and down.  I would go up and down 35 pounds which a lot. I realized that I was doing what a lot of people think they should do to lose weight which is exercise but you can’t outrun about diet, right? 80% of weight loss actually comes from you eat and not from your exercise whereas only 20% from your exercise. So, when people say to me “Oh I can’t workout because I have an injury but I wanted to lose 50 pounds.” Cool! You can still lose 50 pounds so let’s come up with the meal plan for you, right?

So, about 3 and half years ago I just had just gotten married and I felt like it was time to take control of my life. And I started to learn about proper portions and about meal prepping. I was not a meal prepper. I wouldn’t eat enough during the day and then I just binge at night. I don’t know how many of you guys can relate to that but that is exactly what happened to me.

I started meal prepping, then I added superfood shake for breakfast so that I got my breakfast and even though I am not a big breakfast eater. It took me a solid 6 months to year of prepping for my body understand like what correct portions are.

It did not happen overnight, but neither did my binging. It took me a solid 6 months of prepping for my body to understand that it didn’t need to binge to feel satisfied.
