The Truth: You Need To Do Both
In the beginning I was SO scared of lifting weights, I was afraid I would get big and bulky. I used to be hamster on the elliptical for 45 minutes at a time and then head home.
I was someone who used to do cardio only…what happens when you’re trying to lose weight but all you do is cardio is you become skinny fat. It means that you will see the scale move but your body keeps the same look and composition. I still have the same jiggles all over and never really felt strong.
On top of being afraid of getting bulky, I had ZERO idea how to lift and couldn’t afford a personal trainer. That’s where at home works came in handy. I could follow the form of the trainers in the privacy of my home and not pay $100+/hour for a personal trainer.
The great thing about Beachbody On Demand is that there are cardio only programs, weight only programs and a TON of programs that combine weights and cardio which ideal for strength and weight loss! I am currently in the middle of 21 Day Fix Extreme which is my SOUL MATE program because it’s the perfect combo of weights and cardio for my body.
Everyone is different so it’s important to see what works for you and what your body responds best to! I had to try a lot of different things before I found something that my body responded really well to.
