I Completed My First Fitness Program Since the Accident!

Beachbody does this awesome thing where they give out FREE gear give for completing a program even if you do not get results! I submitted my Core De Force Results with their questions and I learned A LOT about my journey!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?

I was in a terrible accident on August 10th 2016. I was walking my dog across a crosswalk in broad daylight and was hit by a car. I had emergency brain surgery to save my life and a fixator put in to hold my shattered pelvis in place. They were not sure I would survive, have a normal live and they never thought I would be able to walk again. I watched 2 years worth of results fly out the window as I was wheelchair bound for 2 months. I couldn’t even stand up. I worked hard in therapy and got to the point where I could stand, crutch and then walk. I was so thankful to be alive and functioning but so disappointed on what 3 months of barely moving did to my body,

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?

I was sick of being uncomfortable in my own body. I felt TERRIBLE about myself. I did not actually gain a ton of weight because I was being careful about my eating and enjoying my Shakeology the month I was in the hospital but everything turned to mush. I knew that getting back in shape was SO much more than skinny jeans for me. I truly believe that being fit before my accident saved my life. I would not have survived or recovered the way I did if I didn’t take care of myself before the accident.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody? help you overcome that challenge?

My head telling me that I couldn’t. I was modifying things I never had to modify before. It was a tough pill for me to swallow. I was in such good shape before that having to take a step by and sometimes modify the modifier was hard.?
