I get a lot of questions and concerns from my clients who feel like they can’t go from eat french fries to salads BUT I am here to tell you that you can still have those french fries, just bake them instead of fry them OR even better use sweet potatoes 🙂 Below is a list of some of the things we eat everyday that you can sub in for a healthier option 🙂
Regular–> Healthier –> Healthiest
Milk –> Fat free Milk –> Unsweetened Almond Milk
White Eggs –> Brown Eggs –> Cage Free Organic Brown Eggs –> Local egggs
Sour Cream –> Plain Greek Yogurt
Salad dressing –> Balsamic vinaigrette –> Lemon juice or Make your own!
Sugar –> Stevia / Vanilla extract/ Raw Honey
White Bread –> Whole wheat Bread –> Ezekiel bread (in the frozen section usually)
Turkey sandwich meat –> Low sodium turkey –> Low-sodium STRAIGHT FROM THE DELI
Mayonnaise –> Mashed up avocado or plain Greek Yogurt
Granola Bars –>Lara bars
White Rice –> Brown Rice –> Quinoa
Pasta –> Whole Wheat Pasta –> Spaghetti made from Squash or Zucchini
Butter/Margarine –> Olive Oil –> Coconut oil
French Fries –> Sweet potato fries (slice a sweet potato, add some spices & bake)
Baked potato –> Baked Sweet potato (add a little cinnamon & skip the butter)
Salt –> Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
Jif’s peanut butter —> Jif’s natural PB –> ORGANIC or all natural PB no artificial flavors OR almond butter
Ground Beef –> Ground Turkey
