My Saturday Night View - The Life of an Extroverted Introvert
Enjoy the View

My Saturday night view: hubby and I on the couch, Michelle asleep upstairs, Sydney curled up in her bed while I surf Amazon.

I sat down tonight to figure out what I was going to write about…fitness, health, money saving tips, mom life…the first thought I had was ‘I can’t believe this is how I am spending my Saturday night.’ The reality is: There is no place I would rather be.

I grew up very introverted, I didn’t have many friends and I spent most of my time (and lunches) in the library by myself. I was super awkward and just didn’t know how to interact with people. I wasn’t unhappy, I was able to recharge my batteries when I was alone but I needed to find a way to share my light.

Then I hit college and my inner-extrovert came out. I was a girl who partied her way through college and her 20s. I never spent a single Friday or Saturday night at home, I had boyfriends all over the country (at different times ;)) and was the ultimate extrovert.

I knew there had to be a happy-medium. Where I could find my ‘tribe’, be myself, share my personality and find time for myself to re-charge.

And now I am come into my {late} 30’s, I have found my introverted self again. I am the definition of a extroverted introvert.

Finding my extrovert in my 20’s allowed me to be myself, learn to talk to other people and find the kind of people I wanted to be a part of my tribe. But there was a piece of my inner introvert that wanted to sit at home on the couch sometimes.

I can happily say there is no place I would rather be tonight. We spent most of the day out as a family, being social and seeing friends. And now it’s time for me to focus inward and enjoy the light that I shared with the world today.

I am grateful for this Saturday Night View and the path it took me to get here.
